There are times in your life when you must ask yourself some tough questions. You must face some facts that will not go away. It may be about yourself, your spouse, child or other family member. These are times when you need to get advice and then you and hopefully with the help of others you make a decision. When it comes to matters of health it is not easy to make some choices. When it comes to the ones that you love cost are the last thing that most consider.
The debate about Healthcare Reform has been mostly centered around costs. That is the only thing that the government can really talk about. The Congress can not create doctors or nurses. They can do things to encourage or discourage people to/from choose the profession. They are selling that having healthcare insurance is some sort of magic pill. That somehow forcing everyone to purchase4 healthcare insurance all of our health problems will be solved. As I've said before, there is a lot of talk about cost but very little about quality. Quantity over quality is a very old argument. Do you think that by increasing quantity we can increase quality. There is not a good track record for this scheme. But the national government is determined to force this corrupted system on the American people.
We as Americans must ask ourselves some tough questions:
- Will a government system provide the highest quality healthcare system to all Americans.
- Once we have taken all of the money from the rich to pay for healthcare, then where will we get the rest of the money to pay for it?
- Where will the next generation of doctor come from when they will not be able to afford to pay off their student loans?
- If the government is going to pay for the doctor's student loans, then where will that money come from?
- If we need everyone into the pool so we can pay for everyone's insurance, then why do we have to subsidies those premiums? Plus how can that bring down cost if everyone else is having to pay the difference?
- How can we bring down cost if we have to create many government departments and hire thousands of government workers to run it?
- Considering the fact that government employees on average make more than private industry workers, then how will moving private industry jobs into the public sector lower cost?
- If not being concerned with profits makes the government plan more efficient, then why is FedEx more efficient then the US Post Office?
- Has the HMO model has really worked to bring down costs or is it the reason cost are continuing to increase?
- Does making a system larger make it better?
- How long will this "fix" delay the crisis of Medicare or is it just another way to delay the inevitable funding shortfalls in the future?
- Will a new entitlement make people more responsible or dependent? Is this the goal?
- If the current Medicare tax can not pay for Medicare, then how can a new healthcare "tax" pay for this new entitlement.
- If this is such a crisis, then why does it not start for another 4 years?
- Why does the President think that we can not do this in increments? If you show us that you can solve the current problems, then why would we not let you work on the others?
- Who will make the final decisions for me and my family and will I be able to get the healthcare that I need?
There are many more questions, but the administration is determined to force these unconstitutional mandates upon us all. How can destroying the current healthcare system help anyone?
