Watching Train Wrecks

The phrase you should never forget in politics is: Always watch the other hand. Yes while everyone is occupied with all the problems with healthcare.gov too many are not looking at what else is happening in DC. It is true that the so-called disaster of the web site looks bad; it appears that this is nothing but a smokescreen to cover their next major intuitive that #POTUS announce. His next push was for immigration reform with amnesty. Yes. He and his willing allies in both parties are getting ready to push through another surprise bill in the dead of the night to fulfill his promise. With Obamacare holding everyone’s attention it should be easy to sail it through the House with not much more than a whimper.

Sure the traitor Marco Rubio has come out and condemned his own bill, but he is only trying to regain his support in the Tea Party. It doesn’t matter what he says, the bill has been passed by the Senate. It only takes a few procedural maneuvers by supporters in the House and suddenly the Democrats will have millions of new voters. If they can buy the votes of all those new citizens, it doesn’t matter about Obamacare failures or the so-called plan by the establishment GOP, there will be no repeal or for that matter no Obamacare. We will all be transitioned to Medicare or Medicaid. Of course the elites in Congress and their rich supporters will still have their private healthcare plans, but the rest of us will be stuck with doctor shortages, cut rate care, and death panels.

So when you’re wondering about how such a disastrous web site could ever be launched that has attracted so much negative publicity and the administration really doesn’t seem that upset about it. Just remember that it doesn’t matter. It is all part of the plan to obtain yet another victory for the president and the Democrats. They are playing for keeps. They see a path to single party rule and they are doing everything that they can do to turn our nation into a Progressive Dictatorship. With the collaboration of the Progressive Republicans they are ready to take total control in very short order.

Can we stop them? That is hard to say. The establishment leadership of the GOP is in bed with the Democrats. They no longer represent the country. They represent the wishes of the power brokers in Washington DC. We stand at the edge of the cliff. We as loyal Americans may have ignored the actions of our elected representatives for so long and not kept our eyes on their actions that we will lose our republic and the last of our freedoms within the year. Too many have called out the warnings for too many years and we’ve either laughed at or ignored them. The time to ignore passed a long time ago. But the rise of the Tea Party may have come too late. The traitors and collaborators were already in place, just waiting for the right moment to come.

If there is an immigration bill passed in the same manner as Obamacare, with no debate that includes blanket amnesty, then the nation will have received a fatal blow that will require radical surgery to repair, but there is no way of knowing if even that will save the nation. Time is running out fast. Those who we thought would protect us and the Constitution are ready to betray us. We must act now to try and head off this new train wreck before it is too late.

Chess, Checkers, or Poker

For many of the people in politics they spend their lives playing games. They’re constantly jockeying for positions and positioning themselves for power. The games they play can and do have different degrees of effect on the population as a whole. Some good and some bad, but sometimes the most benign policies can have the most devastating effects. These plays for power can be even more dangerous when the goals of those playing the game are hidden or obscured by lies and political trickery. It is not surprising to me that during the height of the so called government shutdown the Congress declared that week National Chess Week. Most people did not understand the message that they were sending. They were telling the political class that they were beginning to play a game with the nation.

Seed Newsvine
After the last election the Democrat party made no secret to the fact that their goal was to destroy the Republican Party. They seem to be doing a good job of it. This would create by default a single party system. There is another name for single party rule. It is called a DICTATORSHIP. One of the first acts of a dictatorship is to eliminate all opposition and outlaw other political parties. Dictators do not negotiate. Dictators do not compromise. Dictators rule through force of will, executive orders, and thug tactics. They suppress any opposition through any means available. They play both chess and poker by both planning their moves far in advance and then executing them or if that fails they bluff their opponent into caving.

The greatest danger of a person who is an egomaniac and has sociopathic tendencies is that you don’t know how far they will go to obtain their goal of total power. It is very possible that they will take a scorched Earth tactic that says: if I can’t have it, no one will. This was the danger warned about with the latest debt ceiling debate. There was a justifiable fear that Mr. Obama would violate the Fourth Amendment and refuse to meet the physical and financial obligations of the nation in order to through the world into chaos. Only an anarchist or dictator would be willing to punish those who he was elected and serve in such a manner.

But let’s also consider that the leadership of the Democrat Party is not as egotistical or sociopathic as it seems. True they had no problem shutting down the government and doing unnecessary things to elevate the pain of the American people. From closing the White House tours due to the Sequester to Barrycading national monuments to closing private businesses and evicting people from private homes due to the so-called government shutdown. They wasted a lot of money to punish people to place the blame on the Tea Party. The Democrat Party leadership went as far as closing overlooks on state highways just to inconvenience vacationers and the random traveler. It was enough to convince a lot of people that with the threats of default being used by not only the president but by the leaders in both parties it could have happened. Yes there were Republicans repeating the threat and not pointing out that it would be a violation of the Constitution for the government to not pay its obligations or that Social Security is self-funded from the SSI trust fund and by law, payments must be made. But that didn’t stop the threats or the fear that this government would ignore the law and The Constitution. It’s not like anyone in any of the leadership positions seem to show any concern for their oath of office.

Checkers
It appears that the leadership of the Republican Party is happy to help the president and Democrats with that goal by destroying the support for the party among its base in the general population. Without popular support and a loyal party base there is no way they can win. The establishment GOP has not only abandoned their base. They have alienated some of their strongest supporters.

The leadership of the GOP is either extremely stupid or they are in league with the Democrats. There is no doubt that the Republican Party has no love for the Tea Party. They see them as interlopers who are interfering with the finely tooled machinery of Washington. How many times have you heard John McCain or another leader within the GOP talk about how this is not the way we do things in Washington? Yes GOP attempted to take over one of the largest Tea Party support organization, Freedom Works. They’ve worked hard to discredit and discourage members of other organizations because they consider them a threat, not to the nation, but to the power structure of the GOP.

So it seems to some people that the Democrats are playing Chess while the GOP has been playing Checkers. Well I really don’t know if it is that simple. Yes the Democrats want to destroy the Republicans but that would be too dangerous for them until they can take complete control of the nation as a whole. As long as they need an antagonist they want to keep the GOP alive but very sickly. They need an adversary to blame all the bad things that occur. The Democrats still must worry about the state governments. Although they have a strangle hold on Washington, with a very accommodating opposition party, there are state governments that are not falling in line. For your average tyrannical government this is not a problem, but time may not be on their side as long as there is a strong grass roots effort opposing their goals.

It now seems that the kabuki theater in the District of Columbia over the budget battle and the debt ceiling has been won by the Democrats and a major lose for the Tea Party. It seems that way because the media and the political leaders of both parties are busy blaming them for all the trouble over the government budget issues. But is it possible that both parties have overplayed their hands? Could it be that they were only bluffing themselves? Could it be that too many of these so called leaders have spent too much time in government and lost touch with the populace? It is too early to tell, but the idea that we are still back in the 90s when the major networks had a total monopoly on the information given to the public is a bit naive. There are forces at work that make the political games very important to all Americans. Will the GOP and Democrats win their games? Well I don’t know, but it is not a game when you are talking about the lives of millions of people.

The ideas that made this nation the greatest in the world were freedom to succeed or fail by controlling our own destinies. There are people awake to the destruction of our way of life and they want it stopped. We are tired of the corruption in Washington. We want leaders who will protect our rights, not look for ways to circumvent them. We want respect for our views, not condescension from a self-appointed ruling class that uses their power and influence to become millionaires and then use it to solidify their power. We need to remove this every growing government that thinks they know how to run our lives while they run their own. It is time to stop playing games with the middle class, buying off the poor with empty promises that only keep them poor and enrich the rich.

No matter the game being played by the politicians in our capitals, they win and we lose. It is time for a change. We need to realize that the system is not a two party system. It is a one party system playing all of us for fools. It is time to put an end to their games. It is time to look for new leadership that will return us to the original intent of those who created this nation and made it great. It is time for free people to once again be free. It is time for We The People to end the games that are being played by the politicians, no matter if it's Chess, Checkers, of Poker.

None of the Above...Again

The Democratic Primary of 2010 was very interesting. One of the most interesting things was when a political unknown won the South Carolina Democrat Primary for the U. S. Senate race. I wrote about this in “None of the Above” and “The Shocker in South Carolina.” But once again Democrat voters have spoken their disappointment of their party through the electoral process. Now that it is primary season again many of the loyal party members are going against the party bosses. The mood of the voters would seem to be very unsettled. Although the “powers that be” wish to portray these primary results to uninformed “southern voters,” Republican tricks, racism, or other convenient self-serving excuses. But dismissing the concerns of the rank and file of an American political party is not a formula for long term success.

Seed Newsvine

In 2008 Alvin Greene entered the South Carolina primary with what was assumed to be no chance of winning. This assumption was wrong. He won the primary and then was defeated in the general. It was a clear case of the members of the party voting for “none of the above.” This year it seems to have happened again when the voters in West Virginia voted in a large number against Baraka Obama for a federal prisoner. This can only be seen as a protest vote. To think that at least 40% of Democrats that voted in the West Virginia primary would go to the polls and select an unknown person over the seated President is truly amazing. It is also should be keeping many politicians and political advisors awake at night.

The political unrest is not confined to the Democrats. This year has seen a couple of incumbent Republicans have been shown the door. Several politicians have sensed the mood change and decided to not seek reelection, but it appears that there are many who don’t understand the change in the political winds.

The arrogance of the ruling class in this nation has separated them from the nation as a whole. For many years our children have been taught socialism is a better system. The ideas that made this country great have been demonized for years. There are too many socialists and communist in our government. These forms of governing are at odds with freedom and liberty. The United States was built on the principle of citizen representation. When our representatives are actively pursuing socialism then freedom will soon be come extinct. Freedom and socialism are at odds with one another. There is no way that you can confiscate a person’s possessions and still claim that that person is free. Without property rights and the dream of prosperity there is no America. There is only slavery and servitude.

The Communist Party USA stopped running candidates over a decade ago. The reason they put on their website was: That the Democrat Party’s goals were in line with their goals. Far too many members of Congress are members of the Progressive caucus. Their overall goals are at odds with everything I believe in as a freedom loving American. It seems that too many citizens in this nation are willing to give up liberty for the lies and promises of the Progressive Socialist. As they have gained more and more power they take more and more of our liberties away. This process has been so slow that many of the people today don’t realize what has been lost.

When people obtain power and lose sight of those who they have been elected to server, then tyranny will follow. The political parties have lost sight of the average person and the ideas of American freedom. Our politicians have talked about controlling us. Freedom and government control are on the opposite ends of the scales.

We must regain our freedom of speech. When I was young American would say: “I may not agree with what you say, but I will fight for your right to say it.” This has been lost to “Political Correctness” while many on the left or of a “protected” ethnic group can say anything without repercussion.

We as a people must regain our liberties. It seems that many of the freedom loving loyal American Democrats beginning to understand that the policies of the people they have been supporting no longer support the nation. They understand that democracy and socialism are far different things. They see the Progressives spending the nation into irreversible debt. They see corruption and crony capitalism. They see the FOB (friends of Barak) getting kickbacks and making millions while they are unemployed or underemployed.

So yes I do believe that there is a rebellion in the Democrat Party’s loyal supporters as they continue to look to vote none of the above whenever they can. I can only wonder how many of these Democrats will hold their nose and vote Republican or just stay at home on Election Day. I can only pray that more and more of our leaders will be replaced with intelligent and loyal Americans who will stop the out of control spending and government regulations. That will be just the beginning of returning our nation to the freedoms that made it great.

Memos for Monday 11-28-11

Barney Bows-out:
Well after 32 years in Congress Barney Frank (D-Mass) is heading to the door. He announced today that he is going through some changes and has decided not run for reelection. To many his bailing out of the race may have been a surprise to many, but I can’t say that I was at all surprised. I have to say that I will not miss him and his immoral and unethical presence in Congress. His defense of Fannie Mae and Freddie Mac has done real damage to the country. There is no doubt in my mind that he has engaged in activities that would put anyone other than a member of Congress in prison.

Seed Newsvine
After serving himself for 16 terms he should be given a going away present; the repeal of the Dodd/Frank law. Since both Dodd is gone and now the exiting of Frank, it would be a great way to wipe out the failed legacy of these two failed partisan politicians by repealing a law that contained nothing of value to the nation. This law, which was promised to solve the problems that caused the economic crisis of 2008 has only made thinks worse. It should be replaced with real legislation that addresses the issues identified after the passage of Dodd/Frank. You know Congress, real solutions for real problems not just feel good legislation to allow you say you did something. The problem with feel good legislation is that is does nothing but cover up the real problem.

It will be a great day when that man exits the public stage. It is beyond doubt that he has been part of the top level politically corrupt Congressional leadership. It is just a shame that he did not do the honorable thing and resign. Of course he will just start to lobby Congress or join the left stream media. This is yet another reason to clean up the government by kicking them all out. Now we have another one down and many more to go. So, bye-bye Barney and don’t let the door hit you on the backside as you leave.

So maybe we can also do something of merit to clean up Freddie and Fanny.

Coley Powell – Great Moderates
It appears that Gen. Powell once again shows his impressive credentials as a moderate. This is a man that many conservatives really liked a few years back, well until he opened his mouth. Like many Washington bound Republicans he continues to attempt to sell the nation that the only person who can be elected is a moderate. I really would like to know is: Who are these moderates?

The idea that is constantly sold by many in government is that all Independents are Moderate, all Democrats are Liberal, and all Republicans are Conservative. There is no proof of such claims. In fact a survey from a few years ago shows that most Americans more closely with the views embodied by libertarians. Libertarian beliefs are not moderate beliefs. Neither is the view that the TEA Party is bad for the country denies the popularity of the values expressed by its membership. The people that I have met may be conservative in many ways and they love this nation. They are tired of politicians selling out this country and ignoring the health of the nation. The idea that the majority of Americans believe that we must compromise our values in order to solve problems is not based in reality.

Maybe Mr. Powell should write a book called “Great Moderates throughout History.” It would be a very short pamphlet. Great leaders know when to compromise, but they never compromise their values, ethics, or integrity. Great leaders lead. They do what is best for those they lead. They learn from their mistakes and look for real solutions. This nation was made great because we have had good leadership when we needed it. The ash bin of history is full of nations who compromised their values by taking the easy path. Great leaders make the tough decisions needed to make the nation prosperous.

Trying to make everyone happy is an impossible task, but if you make the majority prosperous then you are on the right track. Success is not making everyone wealthy, since that is impossible. Success is allowing everyone to have an equal opportunity at live, liberty, and the pursuit of happiness. Making everything equal doesn’t mean that everyone will be happy.

The idea that we need another moderate to run against President Obama ignores history. Those who run the Republican Party are happy to put forward another Progressive candidate. We don’t need another John McCain or Bob Dole. We don’t need another pseudo-conservative candidate or President. The lesson that should have been learned from the Reagan Revolution is that a true conservative can win and that moderates Republicans can not. This lesson has been ignored due to the Progressives that run both political parties. So all of the conservative Democrats, Republicans, and independence are ignored by the parties and we are only presented with Progressives. The time for the Constitutional Conservatives to flex their muscles and show that we can once again make this country great. That can not be done by compromising our values and principles.

It is time for people like Mr. Powell to stop telling the American people to sit down and shut up. It is our right to address grievances with the government. The TEA Party is exercising that basic right. We are tired of the greed and corruption in Washington. The idea that the problem in Washington is due to the TEA Party is so far from reality that Mr. Powell has the right to speak just as I do. I don’t agree with him, but I will not try to silence him. But I don’t think his ideas are good for the nation and I will oppose anyone who holds his beliefs. If he really believes what he is saying, I believe he needs to take another look at the founding documents and American history.

Schiller’s List

Once again the curtain at NPR has been pulled back to show the American people who and what our tax dollars have been supporting. If you spend anytime listening to National Public Radio it is easy to see the arrogance and condescension that flows from their hosts and reporters. These self proclaimed “intellectuals” are so busy proving just how much better they are then us “common folks.” For far too many years Public Broadcasting has been run by a bunch of elitists who look down upon people who actually work, and help to pay the bills.

Share
Seed Newsvine
What I see in the James O’Keefe NPR sting video is the results of a culture of hate and arrogance. Mr. Schiller while trying to win the favor of an organization that presents itself as a supporter of The Muslim Brotherhood, shows his true beliefs. He seemed way to comfortable talking to them and was willing to show that he agreed with what he thought would be their beliefs. While declaring that an entire political movement in the US is racist, he demonstrated his racism. He seem to be very happy to join hands and chant “kill the Jews” with those who he thought to have a connection.

Consider for a minute how Mr. Schiller was very willing to climb into the gutter to impress this fake group. He did say one thing that I have to agree with when he talked about a lack of “intellectuals.” I believe that the true statement should have been a lack of intellectual thought at NPR. Is it not a true sign of low intelligence to show such bigotry as shown by this racist person? He claimed that one group was racist (with no proof from NPR, PBS, or any of the other left stream media organization) and then started talking about how the media is controlled by a single racial group. Such unashamed racially motivated speech meant to insight hatred of a group of people shows his lack of critical thinking and demonstrates his engrained hate.

So it seems that on the Schiller list of hate are Christians, Jews, all white people, the TEA Party, Juan Williams, true intellectual thought, and most of Middle America. He also seems to have a problem with the Constitutional right to keep and bear arms, as if that is a surprise from an executive with NPR. It makes me wonder how he feels about the First Amendment. Of course if he supports the ideas of the Muslim Brotherhood, as he says in the video, then maybe he was trying to setup NPR as the official voice of Radical Islam in this country. Then they could change their name to National Palestinian Radio.

Don’t forget that Mr. Schiller was a Senior Vice President at NPR. He was not some local guy from a NPR affiliate speaking, on his own time, to a couple of friends. He was at this meeting as a representative of NPR and as such an agent for that organization. Since NPR receives federal funding he was speaking as a representative of that federally funded organization. His disdain for Middle America and the average citizen of this country should tell you all you need to know about NPR and the people who run it.

When you look at his position within the NPR organization you must consider the belief system of those who he hired and those who hired him. As a manager I know that you can never really know what your employees believe, but I do know that I always try to promote people who share my beliefs and vision. So how many other racist intellectuals are at NPR? How rotten is the entire tree? Doesn’t this whole affair once again bring into focus the true culture at the Center for Public Broadcasting? Is it time to cut these bigots off from the public treasury and sue to get our money back from these hate filled, self-aggrandizing, Progressive Socialist, neo-intellectuals.

Please Support Our Sponsors
The idea that our tax dollars continue to support an organization that would hire an individual who holds the belief system of Mr. Schiller shows the disdain that the Obama Administration, the Progressives, and the Democrat Party has for Middle America. It can be seen that NPR is willing to sell their collective souls for donations from anyone. Their willingness to even meet with a group openly said that they were connected with an organization that promotes genocide and the destruction of a close ally of this country should not be overlooked as many are doing. In this one meeting it is clear that NPR and by association the Corporation for Public Broadcasting are lose cannons and no longer should be support by tax dollars and should be investigated to determine how deep the anti-American and racial hatred goes in these organizations. If those who run NPR think that the American people are stupid, then they need to take a long look at themselves.

As far as the Schillers are concerned, I’m sure that she can return to an organization that shares her views, The New York Times. I’m also sure that Mr. Schiller can find work at any one of the Neo-NAZI organizations, here, or in Europe. I don’t believe the Muslim Brotherhood would hire him, but you never know. They do seem to share the same worldview.

Extremism Redefined

What does it mean to be an extremist? In the past that term was used to describe a person or group that was out of the mainstream of society. For so long the entertainment industry and the government has claimed to be the guardians of the "mainstream" of thought in this country. Their arrogance makes them think that they control society and define what should be the norm of our society. The sad fact is that many in this country do believe that the life shown to them by the major media is the truth of life. Too many of our fellow citizens live in a state of ignorance bliss, thinking that their fantasy world is the real world.

Share
Seed Newsvine
Once again on the Sunday morning talk shows the American people have been bombarded by Democrats talking about the extreme Republican "Tea" Party candidates running in the midterm elections. The Democrats see the Tea Party as a major threat to their agenda. They've worked very hard to discredit an organization that does not exist. There are organized Tea Parties, but there is not and I hope that there will not be a national Tea Party. The Tea Party Patriots and Tea Party Express are Tea Party organizations, but they are not the Tea Party.

The idea of the American people and our God given rights that the government is threatening is what called out many Americans under a common banner. The goals are varied and the ideas are many, but many of the people who are being attacked by the media are nothing more than concerned citizens who woke up one day to realize that the Federal Government was too far out of line. They say that our republic was in danger of falling. With the passage of the so called Healthcare Reform Law our freedoms became even more fragile. The process used by the government to seize control of the healthcare system demonstrated how far out of touch our government had fallen out of touch with the citizens.

The rise of the Tea Party touched many Americans and has caused fear in both major political parties. The smarter leaders and the "powers that be" in both parties saw a grass root movement that spelled trouble. For political partisans like Trent Lott and David Axelrod they saw the one thing that they feared the most; a group of citizens demanding political reform. For people who claim to be so politically attuned they failed to realize or refused to admit that they were out of touch. It appears that the Progressives in both parties have convinced themselves that they could destroy this movement in birth. Both recommended infiltrating and discrediting the movement. They understood that this movement was full of people who were demanding government reform. They understand that this reform will put them, like the current government has done to many of the average citizens, out of work.

The Democrats are repeating the extremist charge at every opportunity. Their goal is to convince as many Americans as possible that they are the norm and anyone who opposes their policies is an extremist. They hope to divide the electorate so that they can maintain power. Once again they put their personal power over the good of the country. Our politicians only seem to be concerned about their power and party. Their agenda, no matter the cost to the country, revolves around empire building. As they grow their power the citizens suffer. Their policy of discrediting the Tea Party is a desperate effort to continue the march of the USA into servitude. Unless we can halt the Democrats agenda our freedoms will be taken away and we will find ourselves living in a third world country. The citizens who love their freedom must continue to stand up and reclaim it.

For those who support the ideas of Tea Party to succeed will require them show patience. The system we are fighting was not built overnight and will not be defeated by one election. This election cycle the Republican Party was venerable. Even though the stated goals of the GOP in line with many in the Tea Party, the leaders are only paying us lip service. Their loyalties are with the party not the country. We must continue to push the Progressives out of the GOP and then work on the Democrats. This is the thing that are expecting, but we have learned that we are the mainstream that the extremism is coming from those who think that they can defeat the people through lies and intimidation. We must find honest people to run for office and back them up no matter what dirt is thrown. We must make sure we vote for the person, not the party. Neither party can be trusted. Remember that you can only trust people not the party. The cost of blindly trusting a party are too high.

It is not extreme to demand that our government follow the laws or our elected officials honor the oath to protect and defend the Constitution. Many of us understand now that those who have obtained power are using it for their own good not for the benefit of the country at large. We see their arrogance and that they don't respect the people of this great nation. They will say anything and tell any lie to maintain the power that they constantly abuse. It is the responsibility of every loyal American to understand that the real extremist are the Progressives and their policies. We can not allow the extremist to define the American system as extreme. We must take our country back. Remember that those people who are ignoring the Constitution, violating, and trampling on the rights of the American people are the extremist.

The Blinding Light of Power

Former Illinois Governor Rod R. Blagojevich appeared On Fox New Sunday today (8/22/2010). In his own way he sought to defend himself and explain his actions as Governor of Illinois. He said several times that what he was doing was "political horse trading." Every time he said that, the hairs on the back of my neck stood up. Rod Blagojevich is an example of someone from the Chicago Political Machine. Unfortunately too many of the political leaders in this country may feel the same way. They see political favors and power as something that should be traded. Instead of looking for the best person for a job they look to patronage. Instead of honest belief and loyalty they prey on fear and intimidation. Too many politicians have been blinded by the light of power.

I can not speak for all Americans, but I know that what I don't want our elected official to engage in political horse trading. Political patronage just breeds more corruption. Mr. Blagojevich does not see anything that he has done as wrong. This is one of the saddest parts for the citizens of Illinois. The fact that these types of politician only see power as a tool to maintain their own position and not to serve those that gave them their responsibilities to society. It seems that they have forgotten their swore duty and think that maintaining that power is good for everyone. This selfish quest for power can have nothing to do with money or wealth. It has everything to do with corruption.

Share
As a citizen I do expect selflessness from our public servants. I don't want people who only seek political patronage. I want people who are willing to consider the good of us all, not the good of a select few or members of one political party. I don't want people who have sold their souls to a single idea and are willing to listen to all good ideas. I'm tired of see politicians demonize anyone who disagrees with their ideas.

Many in government seem to think in black or white terms. I keep hearing the Speaker of the House and the Majority Leader in the Senate claim that all opposition to their agenda is from partisan Republicans. They seem to not understand that the larger of the political voting blocks is the independents. This November we must remember the words of Blogo and how he sees nothing wrong with the abuses of power he so willingly used with no feelings of guilt. We must remove those leaders who can not understand their responsibilities to this country because they have looked too long into the blinding light of power.
