Separating Church and State

Where in The Constitution are the words "separation of Church and State?" Christine O'Donnell asked this question in a debate last week and was attacked for being ignorant. Being familiar with and a major believer in the First Amendment, I know that those words do not appear in it or the rest of the Constitution. One of my very liberal friends was talking about how the "stupidity" and how unqualified she was for not knowing such a basic fact. I had to challenge him. Once I repeated the First Amendment, he then said; "well it means separation of Church and State." They did the same thing that they always do when they lose an argument, turned and walked away. This happens a lot. I've never pulled a Whoopi Goldberg on him, but it is a common end to conversations.

The idea that the words: "Congress shall make no law respecting an establishment of religion, or prohibiting the free exercise thereof; or abridging the freedom of speech, or of the press; or the right of the people peaceably to assemble, and to petition the Government for a redress of grievances" means separation of Church and State is an amazing bit of imagination. The attack on Christianity that has been fought by the left in this country depends on the use of the idea that showing Christian faith is unconstitutional. But it doesn't take a constitutional scholar to read the words and understand what it means. For too long the Atheist have used the ignorance of many Americans to take away a basic human right away from us all. I don't care how you worship, even if it is nothing, as long as your faith doesn't interfere with my faith. That is the meaning of the First Amendment.

Any belief system that affects the actions of a person is a religion. The very first words are Congress shall make no law respecting an establishment of religion. But almost daily we see those who practice Atheism push their belief system on us all. They demand that the government remove Christianity and all public display of it from public display. It is not that they are willing to tolerate us, they threaten to sue whenever they see it. Christians are constantly attacked for their faith on the media outlets while Islam is protected.

As I first mentioned last week the phrase that they use is separation of Church and State. Since Christians go to churches this is an attack on Christians. They don't say Mosque and State, Temple and State, or Synagogue and State it is hard to deny that the target is not Jews, Muslims, Buddhists, or other faiths. I will go as far as saying that those who are pushing this agenda are well aware of the fragile state of their argument but think that they can destroy the Christian Church by using our beliefs and sense of fair play against us.

I've never heard of the ACLU suing to prevent Muslims from praying in public. In fact I seem to remember them suing to force schools to give Muslims time to pray. I also remember reports that the same schools that were sued to stop the teaching of Christian beliefs started to teach Islamic beliefs and their reason was: "Islam is not a religion. It is a cultural system. If a government school is not going to teach Christian faith but will teach Islamic faith, then this is a case of the government trying to establish a religion. This is a clear violation of the rights of the Christians. Those who wish us to believe their twisted view would deny us of "the free exercise thereof." Each time the ACLU sues to stop the free exercise of the Christian faith they violate the Constitutional rights of us all. They've won so many lawsuits by default that they have become arrogant.

Last week NPR the National Propaganda Radio showed their true colors again in a very public way. After taking millions of dollars from left wing financier George Soros, they fired a Juan Williams for expressing his opinion on a national program. He simply expressed the same view of many Americans. More and more Americans understand that Islam is more than a religion. It is a total social system. That includes dress, diet, and their own legal system based upon Sharia Law. When you see a person in full Islamic dress you have to wonder how deep their devotion goes. It is nothing more than basic human nature of self preservation to worry about your own safety. I must say that the Federal Government has done nothing in the last few years to make me feel more secure. The actions of NPR were meant to silence the discussion surrounding the intolerance in the Muslim faith. Their Political Correctness does not serve the citizen of this country. They only wish to push their twisted view on the world.

Wall of Misconception: Does the Separation of Church and State Mean the Separation of God and Government?
Does the Separation
of Church and State
Mean the Separation
of God and
Government?
by Peter Lillback
A warning shot was fired this week to let the "left stream media" that they are required to stay on the straight and narrow path of left beliefs. It seems to have backfired. After many years of NPR attacking the America belief system with far left and progressive, hate, intolerance, and propaganda they may have finally crossed the line. They showed their arrogance in a way that upset even their liberal listeners. The uproar may finally force the government to stop pouring money into an organization that does not deserve public money. If what they do is so important then they should be able to sell advertisement and be self supporting like any other network. The idea that they must have government money to survive proves that they are not serving the public.

It is important to remember that the government has been promoting religion through many means. It is pushing Islam and Atheism. NPR and PBS, although considered "private" corporations, are extensions of the government. They depend on Federal and local government money and their founding under a mandate of the State means that they are a government outlet. They have had no reason to serve the public at large or provide fair and balance reporting. If you spend any time at listening to their programming, you will only hear left wing views. The entire episode this week shows that even someone as liberal as Juan Williams is not safe when he stepped outside their liberal views. He got to a taste of Liberal intolerance.

Now is the time for Christians to push back. We must reclaim our rights and silence those who have taken our right to freely exercise our beliefs. No matter what you believe you must see that those who are working to destroy this first of our enumerated rights, will eventually take away all of our rights if we don't stand up now. The idea that somehow the Constitution says that there is a separation of Church and State is insane. For too long we have been divided over petty disagreements. It is time that we accept that what we have in common is much greater then what is dividing us. We must stand up and be counted or we will be forever silenced. The Constitution does not contain the words "separation of Church and State" we can not allow these lies go unchallenged. It is time to stand up to the ACLU and make sure that they no longer deny us of our rights. Their actions are an attack on the basic principles that make this country great. We must reclaim our rights and live and let live.

In Remembrance

The last Monday in May is a day reserved for those who gave it all. The ones who gave up everything they were or would ever be in the service of their nation. On this day we remember these people. We must also make sure that the debt they paid is not forgotten. We see today too many enemies in and outside of our nation. The system of freedoms is not compatible with the current growth of our national government. There is creeping lose of liberties that continues daily. We find that we have a government that has become a government of men not laws. Laws are selectively enforced and those who try to defend our nation are attacked.

We must spread the word of our freedoms and how we can lose them if we forget or continue in apathy. The failure to stand up and speak is not the American way. We must be willing to give up everything to defend the future for those who come after us. We must not only remember those that gave it all for their country, but why they died. We must stand up and fight the fight to save our country before it is too late. Don't allow Memorial Day become a tool of those who would destroy us or a futile act.

God Bless America and all of those who serve and protect us.

AG Holder Acting Stupidly

It became clear this week that the chief law enforcement officer of the United States has a problem with the law. The man sworn in as the 82nd Attorney General of this country, who's job is suppose to be the enforcement of the laws, seems to not care about the law. For years illegal aliens have systematically been invading our country. This is not his fault. Administrations have failed to secure our borders for many years. He as have other Attorney Generals, inherited the problem. But this is no excuse for him or his predecessor. American citizens have repeatedly been promised that this problem would be fixed.

With the Federal government unwilling or unable to act the state of Arizona passed a law that ordered its law enforcement agents to enforce the law. Just to make sure that there was no issues with some of the language in the law it was amended. Apparently this was a novel idea for many in the Federal government. Members of Congress, the President, and his administration, including the AG proceed to make speeches and toured the talk show circuit and spout distortions of the AZ law. to many, including myself, it seems that they were trying to insight violence. This coming from a person who is suppose to keep the peace. But much of what they've said was inaccurate, misleading, or just plain lies. These blatant attacks and open campaign to discredit the law enforcement officers and the government of Arizona is a disgrace and should never have been carried out by someone in the US government.

History Channel "Dogfights" Giftset Collection - Now 40% Off!
Now after all of the attacks which can be seen to feed the fire of the riots across the nation, it is now known that AG Holder has not read the AZ law. Around 2:45 in the linked video Attorney General Holder makes this admission. He says that section 287g is constitutional and basically the Arizona law is just an extension of that program. If you watch the entire video, you will hear many things that are just not true. The AZ law is not taken affect and any claims that it is being enforced must be backed up.

He said that this is a national issue, but I feel that this is a national disgrace. The Attorney General's job is to prosecute not persecute. But he has repeatedly made claims that he could not back up with facts. He also said that he had not been briefed. Since this is true, then why was he speaking out against something that he was completely ignorant of its contents. He said that he has made no conclusions, but he has spoken out against it. His boss, the President, has made inflammatory remarks that are factually incorrect.

I challenge Rep. Judy Chu to present evidence of her charges of Arizona violating the rights of anyone in the enforcement of a bill that has not become law. The types of remarks that she has made is yet another attack on law enforcement officers. How can our so called leaders expect to rule when they openly attack those who have been given the responsibility of maintaining order. These continued attacks are foolish and should end. This failure of the administration to defend the sovereignty of the country and the lives of those that they are sworn to protect undermines our system of law.

This episode has tainted the AG by politicizes the Department of Justice. He and our leaders have failed their primary duty to this country. We must return to the rule of law. We must defend our country and expect our law enforcement agencies to work together and honor their commitments. It seems obvious that by taking his stand and fueling the lawless rhetoric he is unwilling to carry out his duties. The government's stand on this foreign occupation, shows that our leaders have no desire to protect us. If the current AG is unable to fulfill his duties then he should be replaced with someone who will protect our country.
