Scientific Research vs. Lies Part II

Please Support us by visiting our sponsors
The debate around man-made global warming is very divisive. Whenever you discuss some issues, there are people who automatically jump to a conclusion. Sometimes it is due to their ignorance or they assume that they already know what you are going to say. (Ignorance simply means that a person is unaware of information.) Emotions can also cloud reading comprehension.  Unlike the spoken word, the written word carries the emotion that is brought by the reader.

We as a people must work together to solve problems. This requires some trust. But not total devotion to the first thing that comes along that sound reasonable. We must learn to listen, not just hear, and be willing to challenge our beliefs. We must always question our own beliefs to keep ourselves sane. That does not mean that we should abandon our beliefs, but we should be willing to consider both sides of an argument. It is good to defend a position as long as you consider the other person and their opinion. If we sink into blind obedience, we shall all surely drain.  Think for yourself.

I wish that I could say that we could trust the information given to us by all of our leaders, but I now have major doubts. With the revelations of Climate Gate and the history of bulling that has occurred within the scientific community I feel that we are back at square one. The conscious manipulation of data calls all conclusions about potential climate change into question. It is good to see that many in the scientific community that have questioned the conclusions of the IPCC and other climate change advocates getting more attention.

Weather and climate are two different things. Without long-term supporting evidence and objective scientific research no conclusions of the current weather patterns can be assumed to project the climatic treads of the future. Without the evidence that supports the theory of "Man-Made Global Warming" and a lack of honesty on the part of the "Climatologist" that perpetuated this theory, we're left with a major problem. We don't know what the real problems are so that we can look for solutions!

If I were an active member of a conservation group, I would be demanding some heads be put on spikes. (Well not in a literal sense.) There are real problems in the world that must be solved.  We must find a replacement for fossil fuels. We must continue to cut back on pollution. We must fully understand the affect that humans have on the planet. But the leaders of the Climate Change movement have led us down a blind alley and apparently wasted millions on the way.

This lack of integrity can and in many ways has already setback any progress that has been made to identify and correct real problems.  As people lose faith they no longer will cooperate. Will people blame the entire green movement for the sins of those that pedaled the hoax? This is one reason that I feel the American News Media has tried their best to ignore or cover up the whole affair. Many are complicate in the lies. From the major networks to the Discovery and History Channel Networks, global warming references have been liberal mixed into almost every show. To admit that they were wrong and then go back and correct it would be a monumental task that I'm they may not be unwilling to attempt. So as more people learn of the deception they will become more and more jaded as they see these lies repeated. Look at the reaction to the President's State of the Union Address when he mentioned climate change, and that was just the members of Congress.

A childhood story comes to mind very time I think about the "Climate Change" debate, or maybe lack of debate is more appropriate.
One day Chicken Little was walking in the woods when -- KERPLUNK -- an acorn fell on her head "Oh my goodness!" said Chicken Little. "The sky is falling! I must go and tell the king."
On her way to the king's palace, Chicken Little met Henny Penny. Henny Penny said that she was going into the woods to hunt for worms. "Oh no, don't go!" said Chicken Little. "I was there
and the sky fell on my head! Come with me to tell the king."  So Henny Penny joined Chicken Little and they went along and went along as fast as they could.
Soon they met Cocky Locky, who said, "I'm going to the woods to hunt for seeds."
"Oh no, don't go!" said Henny Penny. "The sky is falling there! Come with us to tell the king."
So Cocky Locky joined Henny Penny and Chicken Little, and they went along and went along as fast as they could.
Soon they met Turkey Lurkey, who was planning to go to the woods to look for berries.
"Oh no, don't go!" said Cocky Locky. "The sky is falling there! Come with us to tell the king " So Turkey Lurkey joined Cocky Locky, Henny Penny and Chicken Little, and they went along as fast as they could.
Then who should appear on the path but sly old Foxy Woxy. "Where are you going, my fine feathered friends?" ;asked Foxy Woxy. He spoke in a polite manner, so as not to frighten them.
"The sky is falling!" cried Chicken Little. "We must tell the king." "I know a shortcut to the palace," said Foxy Woxy sweetly. "Come and follow me." But wicked Foxy Woxy did not lead the others to the palace. He led them right up to the entrance of his foxhole. Once they were inside, Foxy Woxy was planning to gobble them up! Just as Chicken Little and the others were about to go into the fox's hole, they heard a strange sound and stopped.
It was the king's hunting dogs, growling and howling. How Foxy Woxy ran, across the meadows and through the forests, with the hounds close behind. He ran until he was far, far away and never dared to come back again. After that day, Chicken Little always carried an umbrella with her when she walked in the woods. The umbrella was a present from the king. And if -- KERPLUNK -- an acorn fell, Chicken Little didn't mind a bit. In fact, she didn't notice it at all. - Aesop's Fables

This is an old story and I'm sure that this comparison has been done many times before.  But this is my stab at it.  So how does this apply to today?  With little imagination the role of Chicken Little can be filled by the "Climate Scientist."  As I said in part 1, I do believe that the intentions of those who started the "Coming Ice Age/Global Warming/Climate Change fiasco were good.  But like Chicken Little they jumped the gun. In the beginning they were saying such things as: "But if we are right, it will be to late unless we act now." or We must paint the ice caps black so that they will melt to head off the next ice age." I'm sure many of you have never heard or forgotten these statements. Consider the damage to the environment that would have occurred if the latter had been done.

The problem with today's Chicken Littles is when they were confronted with information that contradicted the "sky is falling" idea, they changed their story. They made up or changed the facts to fit their story. They condemned anyone who simply asked questions. They insisted that not only that the sky was falling, but that it was a settled fact that could not be questioned.

The other characters, except for Foxy Woxy are those devoted to the theory.  They unquestionably bought into the theory as presented. They trusted in the experts to tell them the truth and never questioned it. To this day there are those who have not heard or refuse to listen when the facts are told. With religious convictions they repeat "facts" that have widely been disproved or know to be falsified. They say that the sky is falling.

Foxy Woxy is the politicians and others who have attempted to profit from it.  Like the fox from the story there are those who have profited, and even fly around the world, produce so call "documentaries" to sell the ideas, and were looking to make a "killing" off the deal.  As a believer in the Capitalist system, when I hear Mr. Gore brag about how much money he has put into "fighting climate change," I understand the principle of capital reinvestment.  Another way of saying it is: You have to spend money, to make money.

It's really too sad that I cannot say that the hunting dogs where the "watchdog" media. Too many of the "fourth branch" of our government have sold out. It is the dogged efforts of a few who would not be bullied and were willing to stand up to the overwhelming consensus of the cabal and challenge the "settled science" lie. They produced the truth behind the hoax.

You might have also noticed that the King was not the one who saved Chicken Little. The underlying message would seem to say; that you can not always trust the politicians to come running to your rescue. But I'm as likely to say, in the case of the Chicken Little story; that politicians are politicians and I'm happy that they are not and should not be involved in our day to day affairs.  But in the real world events, they should have seen the signs and demanded real investigations.  It seems that our leaders at many levels were using it as a tool to obtain political goals.

We cannot act like Chicken Little. We must look at the facts and determine the real problems and find solutions. We can not depend on the "King" to save us. We cannot allow the Foxy Woxys of the world to led us down a path that will led to their profit and our lose, built upon lies and half truths. We must use our resources wisely and not allow them to be wasted on half baked theories. Our umbrella must be the truth about our affects on the planet, supported by real data and true and honest scientific research. We must face up to the issues and not act like children hiding from the hard choices. We must not allow the greed and deception of a few Foxies to turn us against the things that must be done to make life better for all.
