Bless the GSA

There are just times when you have to thank people for doing what comes naturally. It has become fashionable these days for people on in the Left Stream Media to praise and preach the value of government control. Washington constantly declares that bigger is better, of course that only counts when they are talking about government agencies and their big donors. This is true when talking about everything from healthcare to taxes as those in government believe that they can solve any problem with a huge program spending billions of dollars. The sad part is that many Americans seem to believe this illogical concept.

No one seems to believe this more than the current spender-in-chief, Barack Hussein Obama. His only plan to get anything done is to spend more money. He, and his willing accomplices in Congress, has spent so much money that they have outpaced every President. The reckless pace at which the government has grown endangers the nation as a whole. Bureaucracies are self feeding mechanisms and the federal system has been made even worst by the phenomenon of baseline budgeting which provides ever growing amounts of dollars to them. Since real budget cuts never really occur, then the various agencies and administrative organizations must find ways to spend all of that money.

One of the ways that much of that money is spent is through “empire building” among midlevel managers. They find ways to justify additional projects or expenditures to increase their head count and budgets. I’ve seen this in large companies and government agencies. In many cases the only way that a manager can further their career is by growing their department or program. With baseline budgeting they are not only fighting for an ever growing pool of money but many are finding creative ways to attract and spend those funds. This is the reason that bloated businesses and governments fail in the long run.

Logic and economics—not Keynesian economics—would point to economic activity creates wealth. No matter what the Socialist today say; Free Market Economics created freedom, liberty, and prosperity. Big government programs only create temporary activities but create obligations that can overwhelm the private sector due to the inefficiencies. Because bigger is not better for everything. Bigger is just naturally inefficient and not cost effective.

So with all of that said it is no wonder that the General Services Administration (GSA) would see no problem with extravagant outings at major resorts. The idea that somehow these public servants saw no reason to think that they were wasting tax payer money is not surprising when you consider the resent attitude shown by other government workers. It is true that only one district—has so far—been found to be abusing the trust of the American people.

I believe in The US Constitution and the rights that are enumerated in it. I believe that everyone who is a citizen is protected from governmental abuse and persecution. Even Mr. Jeffrey Neely’s invocation of his Fifth Amendment rights should not be misconstrued but could point to some deep concerns about the possibility that more abuses will come to light. The abuses that have been made public should be a warning to all Americans.

As we move forward in this election year I have to say that this whole episode is a blessing. I can only hope that more Americans take the correct lesson that big government does not work. The Democrats and Obama Administration thinks that the only answer to any problem is bigger government. Look at their track record so far. The American Recovery and Reinvestment Act of 2009 is estimated to be valued at $831,000,000,000.00 which went to many failed projects and directed money to pet projects of the President. The President and his talking heads would want us to believe that without this massive spending the economy would be worst, but the full price of this mismanagement of funds is not full understood by most of us.

The nationalization of the health care system slowly moves forward and may be accelerated if the Supreme Court declares ObamaCare unconstitutional. The lies that told to get its passage was bad enough, but the biggest was the cost estimates that ignored reality. The Progressives believe that by creating a huge price controlling government entity will actually control the free market. So how they overlook the spending of over $1,000,000,000,000.00 to implement this grand scheme will save money. Joe Biden said at the beginning of the Barack Obama’s term that they could spend their way out of debt. This is not only verging on insanity, but shows a total disregard for reality and common sense.

As the government continues to nationalize more industries through regulations and other means there will be more and more wasting of taxpayer’s money. There must be a total rejection of this statist attitude and a return to our constitutional limited government. It is time to run the Socialist, Progressives, and Communist out of government. This will be a slow process which has started, but we can not lose sight of what we have lost. The abusive attitudes of those who have been charged with the duty of protecting our nation must not be forgotten. So I have to be thankful for our blessings and realize that one of the biggest is that those who do abuse the system are not immune to the scrutiny of the people. Now we must real in the abuses of the rest of this out of control government. So I bless the GSA for showing use the true nature of our government. I can not forgive them for their abuses, but I’m thankful that they were arrogant enough to believe that what they were above the law and would not be scrutinized.

To Preserve, Protect and Defend

It seems clearer to me why the legal system and our government is such a mess. With a Law Professor like Barak Obama teach Constitutional classes it brings a multitude of problems into focus. As a professor the responsibility should be to teach future lawyers not only about legal precedent, but the actual Constitution. It seems that every few of our institutions of higher learning are actually teaching the foundation of our government. But it seems that few of our elected—and for that matter unelected—official are aware of that document’s content. That was made very clear as Princess Pelosi has struggled to justify ObamaCare. In her latest attempt she could not cite the Constitution of the United States, but instead cited the Declaration of Independence. She might as well have cited the Articles of Confederation. Which absolutely never allowed such a power grab as the one attempted by the Progressives in the government.

Of course the Progressives are not concerned with preserving, protecting, or defending the Constitution. Mr. Obama sees our foundational document that defines our system of government and is suppose to preserve the liberty of the citizen, as an impediment to his ideas of a “perfect” union. The Socialist Progressives believe that they are meant to rule without impediments. The ideas that anyone can speak freely or defend themselves are frightening ideas.

The founders created a government with three equal branches.

Administrative: The Administrative Branch is supposed to, first and foremost, preserve, protect, and defend the Constitution. The occupant of the office is also tasked with enforcing the laws passed by Congress and caring out those duties that protect the nation from all enemies, internal or external. There are other duties but they all relate to the preservation of the legally constituted republic, defined in our Constitution.

Legislative: Congress is supposed to, first and foremost, preserve, protect, and defend the Constitution. They pass the laws that govern the nation. This also includes the preservation of the legally constituted republic, defined in our Constitution.

Judicial: The courts are supposed to, first and foremost, preserve, protect, and defend the Constitution. They interpret the laws passed by Congress and signed into law by the President. This also includes the preservation of the legally constituted republic, defined in our Constitution. The Supreme Court was designed to be separate from the political system. The members were supposed to be unconcerned about the current political temperament and only concerned with the implementation and constitutionality of the laws.

Mr. Obama has accused the court of Activism activities. Well it seems that there are two different ideas of what defines activism in the courts.

Activist Courts Defined:
To Progressive—such as Nancy Pelosi and Emperor Obama—an “activist” court is any court that stands in the way of the implementation of their radical agenda. They believe that their power is unquestionable and that anyone who disagrees or impedes their “progress” in redefining their personal power is an enemy. It is easy to see with the open attacks and Obama’s enemy list that they don’t believe that anyone should be allowed to challenge their actions.

To conservatives the idea of an “activist” court is when a court exceeds its constitutional bounds by redefining or creating a new “right.” There have been cases in which “activist” courts have order governments to spend money on social programs or involving themselves in-state commercial activities—such as Wickard v. Filburn.

The most extreme case that many cite is Roe v. Wade, in which the Supreme Court somehow decided that the Constitution allowed the Federal government to overturn all state laws and establish a new “right.” Even though there is nothing remotely close to their conclusions outlined in the final judgment delivered in this case. This case is responsible for much of the division in the nation. Because the court determined law by straying away from the customary self-imposed limits usually adhered to by the judiciary, many Americans feel that this was the ultimate “activist” court decision.

The Case that keeps Progressives awake:
It has been repeated several times this week—in different venues—that the courts have the final say. Although that may be true, it does not mean that all decisions are final. I keep hearing Progressives saying that cases like Roe v. Wade are settled law. The only problem with such a statement is that is not really true. That case could be overturned. It has happened before, which sets precedence. The case of Plessy v. Ferguson must worry pro-abortion advocates awake at night. Well if they even know about it. Of course many Americans only know about Brown v. Board of Education. Brown v. Board of Education was the case that eliminated the idea of “separate but equal” which was defined in Plessy v. Ferguson. By revisiting this case the Supreme Court overturned a really bad decision and set forth the desegregation of the nation.

Mr. Obama’s recent attempts to either intimidate the high court or at the every least to undermine their authority, has crossed the line. His political posturing has no place in his dealing with an equal branch of government. It will be interesting to see if the high court takes any actions to reestablish their non-political status and defend the rule of law.

This is the second time he has attacked the Supreme Court. He has exceeded his authority as President. The courts are a separate branch and are not accountable to his whims and wishes. His open defiance of our constitutional system, once again, puts him in direct conflict with his oath of office. As he continues to change our government with executive orders, I can only hope to see more court intervention to halt this erosion of our republic and the liberties of all Americans.

For far too many years our elected representatives have spent their time attempting to circumvent the Constitution and not defending it. The power grabs have been too many and the abuses have gone on for too long. It is time for more actions that will once again restore individual liberties and curtail governmental abuses. It is time to replace the Progressives in every branch at every level, with those who will adhere to their oath, to preserve, protect, and defend our Constitution.

Guilty Until Proven Guilty

Sometimes the story just writes itself. In the news media there is a saying: “If it bleeds, it leads.” I can just see the scene in the bowels of some media organization or Progressive consulting organization. They see a story. It has all the right elements. The episode involves a gated community, a dead African-American, a legally armed Jewish—read white—shooter, and to top it off the shooter goes free. This would seem to be the next great headline grabber. How could it miss? After all it occurred in Florida, which passed a “stand your ground” law a few years back.

Twisting this whole affair into a blood letting lead story line would seem to be child play. What a narrative: The rich shooter in his exclusive neighborhood (a member of a community watch) must have used his political influence to hunt down an innocent kid for walking while black (WWB). With the waning interest in the “War on Women” political story, the Left Stream Media really needed another story to grab the headline and help push their left-wing agenda. All they needed was to paint the picture and wait for the Merchants of hate, such as groups like—Eric Holder’s favorite hate group—the New Black Panthers, plus race baiter Jessie Jackson, and don’t forget all of the self-hating white commentators at NBC News and their cable channel. Of course I could not leave out MSNBC’s leader on the Progressive hate front man, Al Sharpton.

With the employment of Mr. Sharpton as a so-called “commentator” NBC removed any last shred of being non-biased and embraced the outright hatred for America and freedom. No one should be surprised that they would not only openly advocate for the murder of an American citizen, without trail, but turned one of their employees lose to push vigilantly justice. NBC and the rest of the media have pushed the limits on the First Amendment. They are constantly attempting to insight riots by not only showing prejudicial pictures of the victim, but repeating a narrative that is based in fiction. Media pundits nightly discuss this sad episode as if they personally witnessed it. They ignored anything that does not fit their agenda, and again in the case of NBC, edited 911 tapes to fit their hate filled desire to see blood run in the streets. Even though they promise an investigation, the damage is done. Maybe it is time for Comcast to look a little closer at their broadcast unit.

The biggest problem with this story is that somehow the tale became more complicated when the “rich Jew” became a Hispanic. So the media suddenly coined a new race; White-Hispanic. The sudden rush to judgment by so many has put innocent people in danger while pandering to worst elements of our society. Those who rush to judge others without all the facts are as guilty of the crimes committed by those they are attempting to insight. The blood of all the innocent lives lost or damaged is on the hands of those who sent them forward. It is a national disgrace that so many racist are so willing to demonstrate they blind hate. What makes Mr. Sharpton, Mr. Jackson, or the members of the New Black Panthers any different then the Klukers of the last century? There is none in my eyes. Racist haters should not be given a national stage to communicate their sick and demented ideas.

So will the media once again be able to fill their coffers with blood money from riots that they insight? Is it not time for the American people to turn off the hate speech from those who only wish to fill their “news” programs with scenes of death and destruction that they have directly encouraged. I know of no other time that the media has so openly called for and supported violence.

The death of a 17 year old person should never be used in such a manner. The open calls for violence are unacceptable for this nation. The rush to judgment serves no one who believes in equal justice under the law. Guilty until proven guilty is not the American way. The real guilt falls on those who ignore the real crime of black upon black because it does not fit their agenda. This affair is not worthy of national attention in this manner. Those who are in-sighting violence must pay for their criminal behavior. It is still against the law to shout FIRE in a crowded theater and those who are shouting for blood must face the justice that they want to deny to Mr. Zimmerman and anyone who may be injured or kill if the riots they seem to be calling for occur.
