A New Day in America

Beyond all else, I woke up in an America where a major part of our First Amendment right to free speech has been restored. Today, as proven by the demonstration in Washington on Saturday, Americans can once again disagree with the President of the United States without being called a racist. However, in a strange twist, it seems that if you do not disagree or criticize President Trump, then now you are a racist. It really makes me wonder who the real racist is in this argument. I think I know the answer.

According to those, who have controlled the narrative for far too many years, if you defend yourself, your beliefs, or have any American values you are an evil person. We are not evil people for defending ourselves. We are not evil people for defending our way of life. We are not evil people for loving life and wanting to improve that life. We are not evil for wanting our children and those who come after us to have the same and even more freedoms and, this is the most important part, the responsibilities of a free people.

We have an insurgency in the major population centers of this nation who no longer support the founding principles and traditions of our nation. They no longer care to work toward the common good of the nation as a whole. They want to get “their way.” They only want to impose their will upon the rest of the nation. They have lived under government control for most or all of their lives. They depend on government for so much in their lives; they have lost the basic meaning of what is freedom.

When you live in a cage, you become happy with your captivity. They demand more from government because they fear losing the safety of the cage. Too many trust a faceless, uncaring government bureaucracy more than they do the human beings around them. They have enslaved themselves to the ideas of that perfect socialist society, without understanding the full cost. They just need their streets cleaned and trash removed. What they eat and drink is ultimately determined completely out of their control. The local governments in most cities are determined to forbid their citizens from defending their lives or property. They have been told that guns are the problem not those how use the guns. Hollywood paints a picture of violence that reinforces the notion.

The majority in the urban areas believe that by their sheer numbers alone that they not only absolutely correct in their belief, that they can decide the fate and direction of the nation. That if you live in a rural area, you do not count. A majority of the states not a majority of the population determined the last election. That is the way the founders designed it and I fully support it, since that was the idea behind a republic. The majority that lost are currently throwing something that can only be described as a “tantrum.” Along with this immature display, the anarchist and socialist can use this disorder to create even more disunity in the nation.

I do not know if President Trump can be trusted no more than anyone can fully trust anyone else in public life. I just feel better that maybe, just maybe there will be some real common sense brought back into the government. I can only hope that our government will begin to start protecting the citizens of this nation from enemies from without and within. I hope that we will discontinue the move to globalism, where the government set policies that send American jobs overseas.

For far too many years, governments raised corporate taxes and set overbearing regulations to the point where companies found it easier and more profitable outside of the country. When the Federal Government alone is taking 35% of a company’s profits and told that, they are not paying their “fair share” with no one defends them, why would they not want to leave for another more friendly nation? When they left, they took the jobs with them. The jobs that many Americans need to support their families. The only jobs left paid far less than the jobs that the governmental globalist policy ran away.

I also hope that our government can once again become a Constitutional Government. The 20th century saw the Federal Government overreach their constitutional limits. The growth of that government has caused it to become so removed from the people that I feel that they are no longer a representative government. Far too many of the agencies and government employees are not justified within the confines of our founding document. However, too many people really believe that those agencies are actually involved in what their name implies. Therefore, that makes it harder for a reformer to make the changes that must occur to reestablish our republic. In addition, the large number of government workers makes them a huge voice to push back against any reforms. Not to mention the unions that should have never been allowed to organize government workers.

I pray for our country. I pray for our President. I pray for those who do not agree with me. I pray that we can become that shining city on the hill that everyone want to emulate not invade. We must stop trying to impose “democracy” on the world and show them the way that they can build their own republic. By trying to impose ourselves on the world or trying to buy their friendship, we do nothing that moves the world to a place where humans can live in truly peaceful and prosperous would. However, the promise is there with new leadership in Washington to move us in a new direction.
